1. While your router is powered off, connect the power cord with the router, simultaneously plugging in the power cord into the power source.
2. Connect the laptop to the console port of your router with console cable.
3. Power on the router. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes for the router to complete booting. Usually, solid lights or blinking in repeated patterns indicate the completion of booting.
4. Start the terminal emulator program on your laptop and use it to access the Command Line Interface (CLI) of the router.
5. To erase the existing configuration, enter the following command and proceed with the stated steps:
router> enable
router# writer erase
A confirmation message will pop up. Confirm the command and press Enter key.
router# reload
Confirm proceeding with reload by pressing Enter key.
You may be asked to enter the initial configuration dialogue. Write ‘no’ and press Enter key.
Write ‘no’ for saving the configuration of the AP and press Enter key.
6. You will need to wait till the erase or reload is finished and a completion message appears.
7. Subsequently, on receiving the message, close the terminal emulator window and power off the router.
